Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1770-1803.

Tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with a pierced fret at the front and sides, five brass urn-and-spire finials on plinths, arched sidelights with carved latticework, free-standing turned columns with gilt capitals and bases at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove and ogee moldings at the top and a case door with a molded edge, concave bottom corners, and an arched top. Base with cove molding at the top, ovolo molding at the bottom, shaped skirts at the front and sides, and supported on straight bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls in the spandrels, and a rocking ship mechanism in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved seconds dial, a calendar aperture, engraved c-scrolls and leaves, and the inscription "Benjn Willard Roxbury." Eight day movement.
